UM 소개

마니토바 대학교 (University of Manitoba, UM)는 1877년 마니토바 주 정부가 마니토바 (Manitoba) 주도인 위니펙 (Winnipeg)에 설립한 주립 대학교이자 캐나다 서부 최초의 대학교입니다. Gourman Report 선정 캐나다 대학 9위에 올랐으며 캐나다 내 15개 연구 중심 대학교 중 하나 입니다. 100여개의 학/석사 과정이 제공되고 현재 학부생 26,500여명, 대학원생 3,790여명이 재학 중이며 의과 대학, 보험 계리, 공학, 건축학, 농업학 전공의 인지도가 높습니다. 캐나다 내에서 학비가 저렴한 주립 대학으로 손꼽히고 있으며 가장 큰 장점은 졸업 후 마니토바 주정부 이민 (MPNP)를 통해 영주권 신청이 가능하다는 것입니다.

패스웨이 (Pathway) 과정이란?

마니토바 대학교 (UM) 메인 캠퍼스 내 위치한 International College of Manitoba (ICM)에서 제공되는 국제 학생들을 위한 마니토바 대학교 공식 입학 과정으로 한 반 평균 30 -35명 소규모 수업이 제공됩니다. 3학기 (12개월) 동안 국제 학생들끼리 학업 하고 해당 과정을 성공적으로 이수하면 UM 연계 전공 2학년으로 진학 가능합니다. 패스웨이 학생만을 위한 ICM 스텝들이 상주하고 있으며 Study, Club, Workshop, Info Session등이 제공됩니다. ICM 패스웨이 과정으로 입학한 학생들도 UM 학생들과 동일하게 학생증을 발급 받아 모든 학교 시설 및 서비스를 이용할 수 있습니다.

Direct Entry: UTP Stage I/II 과정으로 바로 입학 가능

Mixed Entry: UTP Stage I/II 과정에 Academic English 수업이 추가되며 별도 비용 발생 (첫번째 학기)

* 공인 영어 성적이 없거나 부족한 학생은 마니토바 대학교 내 어학 기관 (ELC)에서 어학 연수를 하고 패스웨이 과정으로 입학 가능합니다.

마니토바 대학교 진학 요건

UM 2학년으로 진학하기 위해서는 패스웨이 과정에서 최소 10과목 (30학점)를 이수하고 입학하고자 하는 전공별로 요구하는 CGPA (4.5 만점에 2.5~4.0 이상)를 충족해야 합니다.

  • 실험실 사용료 (일부 과목): CAD 40 ~ 200

UM 학사 과정 학비 숙소

  • 기숙사비: CAD 9,000  ~ 14,000 (기숙사 옵션 및 식사 플랜에 따라 상이)
  • 홈스테이 신청비 및 행정비: CAD 375 / 1회, 환불 불가
  • 홈스테이비: CAD 800 ~ 1,000 (1인실, 4주 기준, 아침/저녁 식사 포함)
